Shortcuts

It's human nature to look for a shortcut or quick fix, and plenty of people are selling "hacks" and "how to" achieve a result without the work.

Unfortunately, when you look at the top performers in any field you admire, none of them got there by taking a shortcut, and they are usually the hardest-working people in the room.

John Huntsman said that besides putting in the necessary work, that also there are "no moral shortcuts in the game of business - or the game of life."

How would we sustain it even if we could achieve a result without the work? Huntsman explains his view: "There are basically three kinds of people: the unsuccessful, the temporarily successful, and those who become and remain successful. The difference, I am convinced, is character."

It would seem the ultimate shortcut or hack for success (if you are looking for one) is to focus on your character.

Putting in the reps to win on that Effort would impact all others.
